WITH JAGUAR LANDROVER & MERCEDES SERVICES WE CAN UPDATE ONLINE SERVICE RECORD SO YOUR MANUACTURER CAN SEE THE SERVICE DONE
Why is main dealer servicing important
When you drop your car off to be serviced at a main dealership, you can be sure it will involve significantly more than just a quick oil change. There are plenty of other bits of work that’ll be carried out, including dozens of checks to ensure your car is safe and in optimum condition. In short, car servicing is something you simply can’t afford to ignore.
Many people think they have to have their car serviced at a franchise dealer to preserve the car’s warranty. This isn’t the case. The UK Government has retained the EU Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (MVBER), which prevents car manufacturers from forcing their customers to use their approved dealerships to maintain the warranty.
This means you are free to use an independent garage but you must make sure that the garage services or repairs the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards and only uses manufacturer-approved parts and fluids. This should be documented on an itemised invoice.
This evidence is important for any potential warranty claims and to protect the car’s resale value.
Full car service can cover a range of things. At its most basic, it means changing engine oil along with the oil and air filters. But depending on your car's condition, age and mileage, it can also include changing spark plugs, gearbox oil, antifreeze (sometimes called coolant) and brake or power-steering fluid.
ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT PARTS
Many people think you have to go to a main dealer to get the right parts for their vehicle, but this is not the case. Whether you own a Jaguar/Landrover, BMW, Audi or Mercedes, at Sparrowhawk Motors with our main dealer servicing option, we use original parts but without the additional dealership prices. Not only are you getting exactly the same parts, but for a more reasonable price and with a 2 year or 20,000 mile guarantee.
With Jaguar/Landrover & Mercedes;
Whilst ensuring we meet the manufacturers servicing guidelines and thus protecting your warranty we are also able to update the Online service records with the main dealer so that they can also see the correct service was carried out.

Car Servicing
Most cars need servicing every year, but some models only require a service once every two years. Most cars have fixed mileage gaps between services – usually between 12,000 and 20,000 miles – but some cars will automatically alert you when they need servicing.
These variable service intervals are based on how you drive – drive a car hard, or make lots of very short journeys, and you’ll need to service more frequently.
